Where We Serve: NOWmeds State Availability
The reason NOWmeds isn’t in every state yet is less mysterious than it seems. A telehealth service can only treat you in states where it’s been licensed to practice, so where you live decides whether a given company can help you at all. Here's a look at the states NOWmeds serves today, and how that list keeps growing
NOWmeds holds licenses in most U.S. states today, with more on the way. This page shows you how to check your own state in seconds, and what your options are if we haven’t reached you.
States Where NOWmeds Is Currently Available
NOWmeds works as a telehealth pharmacy, so two kinds of state law shape where we can treat you. Licensing law determines where our providers can practice, and pharmacy law determines where we can fill and ship a prescription. We currently serve most of the nation, though a state only becomes covered once we’ve met both conditions.
To check your own state, start creating an account. The moment you enter where you live, we confirm whether we’re there. Anyone we cover can carry straight on from that same screen, with a licensed provider picking up the case. If you’d first like a sense of how the review and delivery work, you can learn more about how NOWmeds works.
Why State Availability Varies for Telehealth
There’s no single national telehealth law. Each state writes its own, which is why the same service can be fully available in one place and off-limits just across the border.
According to the Center for Connected Health Policy, which monitors these regulations nationwide, states frequently require a provider to be licensed in the patient’s location. Some also restrict which medications a provider can prescribe without an in-person visit or set their own terms for how a remote consultation is conducted.
For a service like NOWmeds, each new state is its own undertaking. Before we can treat anyone there, we secure the right provider licenses, meet that state’s pharmacy and prescribing laws, and then confirm we can legally deliver every treatment we offer.
Our telehealth consent form sets out what those obligations mean for the care you receive. Working through them one state at a time is slower than activating the entire map at once, but it’s the only way we’re willing to do it.
What to Do If Your State Isn’t Listed Yet
If we haven’t arrived in your state yet, join the waitlist. We read it closely to see where demand runs highest, which is what points us toward the state we take on next.
We post new states as they launch, so it’s worth looking back now and then. For a better idea of the expected timeline where you live, you can contact our care team to find out what they know.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is NOWmeds Available in My State?
We cover most U.S. states. The fastest way to check yours is to set up an account, since your state’s status appears the moment you enter it.
Why Isn’t NOWmeds Available Everywhere Yet?
Telehealth and pharmacy dispensing are both licensed state by state, and every state sets its own standards. We only operate where we’re cleared on both counts, which is why our coverage grows in steps.
Will NOWmeds Expand to More States?
Yes. Reaching more of the country is active work, and the waitlist points us toward where the need is greatest. When a new state opens, we announce it on the site.
